What certification proves the gloves are actually compostable and not just "green-labelled"?

Our Disposable Biodegradable Glove carry BPI Compostable Test Report No. 10529018-3, issued by the Biodegradable Products Institute — a recognised North American third-party testing body for compostable product claims. This report is the documentation typically required by retail chain sustainability auditors and ESG reporting frameworks to substantiate industrial compostable claims. It is available in the compliance pack provided with pre-production samples.

Are biodegradable gloves also SGS food contact tested?

Yes. Disposable Biodegradable Glove are produced in our BRCGS Consumer Products certified facility (Certificate No. CN-BRCCP-251634), which covers food-safe packaging production. What is the difference between "biodegradable" and "compostable" in glove labelling?

Biodegradable is a general term — many plastics degrade over very long timescales and the claim can be made without testing. Compostable is a specific claim requiring third-party verification against a defined standard (e.g., industrial composting conditions). Our gloves carry BPI test documentation verifying compostable breakdown under industrial composting conditions — a stronger and auditable claim than generic biodegradable labelling.

Biodegradable (compostable) gloves are not suitable for: (1) standard landfill disposal environments — the industrial composting breakdown requires specific temperature and microbial conditions not present in typical landfills or home compost bins; claiming "biodegradable" in a landfill context is misleading; (2) applications requiring high elasticity — the compostable compound does not match TPE or POE stretch performance; (3) chemical resistance applications — compostable PE compounds are not rated for chemical contact; (4) buyers whose supply chains cannot access certified industrial composting facilities — in that case, a standard BRCGS Consumer Products-certified food glove with responsible disposal guidance is the more honest choice. The compostable certification only delivers on its environmental claim when the end-of-life pathway (industrial composting) is actually accessible.
