Materials analyst reviewing compostable glove prototypes, bio-resin pellets and certification test specimens

Compostable material qualification

Certified compostable glove materials require a defined scope of supporting documents

A material certificate, a finished glove and a destination claim are related—but they are not interchangeable procurement evidence.

Worldchamp source materials reference EN 13432, ASTM D6400, DIN CERTCO and BPI. Confirm which certificate or test report applies to the exact material, glove SKU and destination before using a claim.

Evaluation frame

Define what the material must prove

The material option, finished glove, evidence and supply file should answer the same buyer brief.

Material scope

Identify the resin or compound covered by the supporting file.

Finished glove scope

Confirm construction, additives, dimensions and the tested finished article.

Destination scope

Match wording, disposal pathway and market requirements to the buyer brief.

Items to confirm

Control the comparison before releasing the program

Use written checkpoints to prevent material-name assumptions.

01

Certification chain

Ask who owns each certificate, what material or product it covers and whether it remains current.

02

Performance trial

Test opening, donning, tearing, task contact and pack dispensing under the real workflow.

03

Environmental claim review

Keep environmental wording within the supported standard, product and disposal context.

04

Repeat-order record

Tie the approved compound, glove sample, pack and evidence file to one SKU.

Buyer questions

Questions to resolve before material approval

Answers depend on the exact formulation, finished glove, destination and intended task.

Does a compostable resin certificate prove the finished glove is certified?

Not automatically. Review the certificate holder, scope, tested article, applicable standard and exact finished product.

Which compostability standard should a buyer request?

That depends on destination, disposal pathway and claim. EN 13432, ASTM D6400, DIN CERTCO and BPI references should be checked against the exact product file.

Can compostable gloves replace every PE glove?

No universal substitution should be assumed. Compare task performance, compliance needs, dispensing and commercial conditions.
